From the Rector's Study
Good Morning Church!
I hope this edition of our Newsletter finds you well. We have much in store for you this Fall. New offerings such as a weekly Bible Study, Prayer Groups, A Community Wide Blessing of the Animals, Special Church Services to acknowledge certain feast days, and Support groups are being planned for this fall. We are also offering all of those wonderful programs and events that we always have. We are looking forward to the resumption of our Trinity Guild meetings and our Men's Breakfast Group, as well as our Youth Groups. One of our most important offerings to the community will also resume. Our Community Wide Tutoring Program will kick off right after Parent Teacher Conferences in mid September. Please keep the staff, the program clients and our volunteers in your prayers! This Summer has been incredibly busy with planning and we are looking forward to walking the journey with all of you as we grow closer to The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit together.
In many ways, this summer has been hard for this parish. We have lost two members of the parish that unfortunately passed this summer. We have also had some difficult diagnoses in the parish. So, I ask you all to pray for those on our parish prayer list. If you would like to have copy of that list, please know that the list is included on the email sent to parish and in the newsletter sent to those who have requested it be mailed to them. We know that we all need support through prayer, but we also know that we all need simple human contact during these times of trial. Since we know this to be true, we are endeavoring to put together a support/ prayer group for those who are experiencing painful events and loss. This will also be open to those who want to support their friends through difficult times. Know that more information will be made available, but do not hesitate to let us know if you are interested!
As we kick off this inaugural edition of our newsletter, we as a staff want you all to know that we are here and available to help, pray, and listen. If you need us, the Church will be there.
From Father Steve
My dear friends,
It is with a heavy but grateful heart that I write this letter to
you. After four very joyous and rewarding years serving
this community, I have accepted a call to serve as
Regional Minister for Region II in the Diocese of Wyoming.
I will primarily be serving churches in Newcastle and
Wright. Julia and I want to thank each and everyone of
you for the kindness and love you have shown us during
these four years together. We felt so welcomed when we
arrived, not only by Fr. Clay, but also by all of you. This
community received us with open arms, and you took us in
as one of your own children. We had some troubled times
before our arrival at All Angels. The love that we received
from all of you helped us to heal and move forward. We
will always be eternally grateful for your love and
kindness.
Throughout these four short years, I have enjoyed working
with all of you in the various ministries of the Church. I
have learned so much from so many people and it has
been a great pleasure serving you in the best way that I
possibly could. I have come to learn that this is a very
special community that strives to always be united under
the loving care of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I have learned
that you love us, no matter how imperfect we may be, and
that is worth more than gold.
I want to take this opportunity to humbly apologize to
anyone whom I may have treated rudely, or did not have
time for, or if there is anything that I did to offend you.
Please know that, that was never my intention and I ask
for your forgiveness.
Change can be difficult, but as Christians we always try to
discern what is best for our Church. I am very grateful to
Bishop Tarrant and Bishop Folts and Father Clay for
allowing me to serve in South Dakota and to be a part of
the family at All Angels.
This farewell has allowed me to pause and look back and
count my blessings that I have received while serving this
community. I can see how God has guided me along the
way and perhaps helped me to lead others to Christ. I pray
to God that He will continue to shower his blessings and
love on this community and know that my prayers are with
each one of you.
Few words express my feelings, so it’s hard to convey
how deeply I appreciate the love and support that you
gave during these four years together. The only thing I ask
of you is that you continue pray for me, as I will pray for
you.
From the very bottom of my heart I thank you for these
amazing and fruitful years together. We will miss you, but
we will not be far away.
Sincerely,
Fr. Steve

Greetings ! As summer is winding down and the Fall air has visited us and brought heat relief, we anticipate a busy schedule at All Angels. We had lots of rain, some blister hot days, thousands of motorcycles and for me a bumper crop of zucchini, AGAIN!
Over the summer pastoral care continued to be my focus with a fun break at Thunderhead Camp for Art Week. What a joy to be with the teens attending and with the All Angels Staff, Mother Lydia, and Reverend Kim the director.
We have lost some dear friends and family over the summer and in the last year. This indicated to me that a grief recovery group could be a great addition to our schedule and a healing experience for many. Please speak to me if you are interested and I will keep you informed.
Please keep teachers, students, and all school workers in your prayers as the school year begins. Fall will be an exciting and fulfilling time for us.

We always have a few projects on-going as we are dealing with an old buildings that always need something replaced or repaired.
Church: the roof had a few shingles to be replaced. There was a question regarding staining in the northwest corner of the church, we have consulted with two experts in the field and they agree that this is not from an active leak, but from before the installation of new roofing shingles. There is, however, aesthetic issues with the plaster that need to be investigated. A great quote we received from stone mason Kim Slusher was "Stone moves and breathes, plaster doesn't." Be assured that the issues with the plaster are "appearance issues" not problems with the structural integrity of the building or the roof. Also, the area above the Sanctuary is sprayed for critters four times per year which has made a huge improvement over the wasp and fly problem.
Parish Hall: Thank you to Julianne for painting the wall base around the main room. The removal of the baseboard caused plaster and paint damage when the new carpet was installed. A new outside railing was installed on the wall along the sloping sidewalk area. The heating/cooling system continues to need work. A long range plan may be its replacement. The facility is used by several organizations and for many purposes. We are very fortunate to have this facility.
Office Building: the 40-year old rear deck needs to be replaced- the wood footing posts are rotting away and the rest of the deck needs too much repair. An estimate is being obtained for the job. A newly refurbished copier has been recently obtained with Business Systems. A new contract was negotiated and the new machine will fit our needs for five or more years.
We continue to address problems as they are identified.
Pledge Commitment: The yearly pledge commitments really help when planning the yearly budget. A yearly pledge drive is made at which time many Parishioners sign pledge cards. We have many parishioners who do not sign a commitment card but do contribute to the church. And, a few who contribute infrequently. We know that we are very blessed to have a very healthy endowment and the revenue from investments of that fund help us to cover shortfalls in revenue. That being said, we hope to be able to cover our operating expenses in the future and your pledge and donations help us get closer to that goal! We plan on a commitment/ pledge campaign in the near future so our hope is that all of us can begin praying about how we will support the church in coming years.

Altar Guild/ Worship Here
Altar Guild and Worship participants-
The Church is actively recruiting folks who feel called to help us lead worship as readers and those who are called to help with setting up the altar area for liturgy. This involves maintaining the objects we use during our church services as well as working with the rector and clergy to make sure that everything needed for worship is ready and in place. For some, both roles might seem a little daunting or even scary. We, as clergy, hope that we can be there to train, help and encourage anyone who feels called to either of these jobs. These jobs are not about perfection. These jobs are about being involved, sharing talents with God, and building the bonds of fellowship. Please let any member of the clergy know if you are interested!
